Your Physician Dr. Breann Kelley
Dr Breann Kelley was born and raised in the Kansas City area. She is a graduate of Oak Park High School. She completed a BA in psychology as well as obtaining her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Residency training included a year of combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at the University of Illinois – Chicago, and concluded with Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri- Kansas City. After completing residency training, Dr Kelley has worked primarily as a hospitalist at several hospitals in the greater Kansas City area.
Her own weight struggles drove her to learn more about the science of weight loss medicine. This led to the discovery of the specialty of obesity medicine. The more she learned about this new and growing field, the more it felt like her calling. In December of 2015, Dr Kelley took and passed the American Board of Obesity Medicine exam and became a certified diplomate. This education has helped tremendously in her own weight loss journey as well. She is now at her goal weight and about 40lbs lighter than when she finished residency.
When Dr Kelley is not working with people to help them achieve their weight loss and healthy lifestyle goals, she spends time with her 3 energetic children. Her hobbies including running, reading, traveling and watching superhero movies. She is also a volunteer pacer for The Runner’s Edge – the half marathon is her preferred distance.
